a Rob Heydon film.
Based on the book by Irvine Welsh. - In the spring of 2005 I met director Rob Heydon, through a friend of my former roommate. Rob Heydon had directed various music videos for numerous artists and had won a MMVA for his directorial work on: Alive by Edwin.
I was impressed and viewed him as inspiration of where I had wanted to take my career in the future. We had met for lunch at a small vegetarian restuarant by St.Clair and Bathurst. As Rob explained to me his career as a director, I had asked him about future projects on the horizon. He mentioned to me that he had acquired the rights to an Irvine Welsh book : ecstasy. If anyone knows who Irvine Welsh, he's famous for writing: TRAINSPOTTING and a slew of other great books. Rob mentioned he was looking for funding to get the project off the ground. I told him of a few people he could approach, but it was difficult because we were Canadians, and weren't living in Hollywood.
Fast forward to 2011. After repeatedly trying to get funding, Rob was finally able to raise funds through the North Heritage Fund and private investors. At the same time, various famous actors / actresses signed on board for the project including: Adam Sinclair, Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) and Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings).
His continual attempts to get funding were written up in the Globe and Mail.

Production started in 2010 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and ran into the winter of 2011.
I had dropped Rob an e-mail asking if him if he needed a poster design for the movie. His reply was Yes. We discussed the direction of the poster over email and that noted he wanted something different.
I made him two designs. One had romantic qualities with inspiration from current British graphic design trends. The other was inspired by the early 90's rave scene in Britain, with a mix of glitch art (I.E. Broken Jpegs files and distorted digital files.) Below is my work from the project.
